Why Paleo??


If human history was represented by a football field 99 of the 100 yards would represent the time in which humans hunted and gathered for food.  During this time our bodies and genes adapted for optimal survival through a hunter and gather lifestyle.  Our genes today are nearly identical to those of our earliest ancestors over 120,000 years ago yet most of us eat, move, and think in a way that is totally incongruent with those genes.  The people who live in contemporary hunter/gather societies today, and live congruently with their genes, have virtually no cancer, no diabetes, no cardiovascular disease, no near sightedness, no acne and they are powerful like modern day Olympians. 
So the question is what did these people eat?  The answer is relatively simple… fruit, vegetables, and meat.  This means that foods like wheat, dairy, and legumes were relatively foreign to humans for 99% of our existence.
